Have you been struggling with feeling anxious or having low motivation? Are you feeling overwhelmed by your thoughts? Annie works with adolescents and adults who deal with anxiety, depression, difficult life challenges, low self esteem, disordered eating, and other mental health issues. She uses cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness, boundary and goal setting, and self compassion to help identify and work through negative and self critical thought patterns that cause anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. She desires to create a space of compassion, safety, collaboration, and respect in order to best identify unhelpful thinking patterns and provide tools to help people achieve their goals.
Annie counsels from that belief that empathy, hope, and compassion bring healing to people’s lives. Annie believes that each individual is unique and different techniques may be helpful for different people, thought patterns, and circumstances. Annie believes that brain health is important and that by creating a self care routine with coping and grounding techniques and challenging unhelpful thinking patterns with healthy thinking patterns, individuals can help regulate their emotions, create healing in the brain, and find balance in their lives. Annie also believes that sometimes medication is needed in order to best help in regulating thoughts and emotions, and may recommend seeing a psychiatrist to discuss medication options and management.
One of Annie’s unique offerings is “walk-and-talk therapy”. Annie believes that peace and restoration can be found in nature. Walk and talk therapy provides a space for movement and calming stress relief. The beauty and healing found in nature helps bring a new perspective to the counseling process.
