Are you struggling with anxiety or depression? Do you feel overwhelmed by your emotions and racing thoughts? Have you been feeling stuck not knowing how to move forward?
Diamond works with children, teenagers, and adults to overcome anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, suicidal thoughts, and more. She believes that each client is unique and special. When working with clients, she utilizes Cognitive Behavior Therapy to help her clients evaluate their thinking patterns and challenge unhelpful thoughts by replacing them with realistic and helpful thoughts. She accomplishes this by building a trusting relationship with her clients and creating a safe space for them to freely express themselves.
Through counseling, clients will learn skills and tools needed to manage their symptoms. Diamond collaborates with clients to create a plan to help them achieve their goals. Together, they will reflect on past experiences and explore current emotions. She teaches her clients how to recognize and challenge unhelpful thoughts and learn healthy coping skills. Diamond’s clients often feel happier, peaceful, and more confident taking on life’s challenges.
Diamond is a Dallas native. She received her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Dallas Baptist University and her Masters of Science in Counseling from University of North Texas at Dallas. Her early work experiences include working as an afterschool care aide, attendant care, and research assistant.
With over 10 years of experience working with children, Diamond is a well-equipped counselor for children and adolescents. She understands that growing up can be hard. Some struggles young people face is processing their parents’ divorce, low self-esteem, pressure from society, and figuring out their identity.
One of Diamond’s specialties include play therapy. Children are not able to communicate their experiences and emotions the way adults do through talk therapy. In play therapy, the child can recreate their experiences and express their emotions, while Diamond facilitates the healing process. Play therapy can help children learn to become responsible for their behaviors, how to express themselves appropriately, and improve social skills.
Seeking out counseling is a big step and takes a lot of courage. Call to schedule an appointment today to begin your healing journey!
